Your Guide to the 2020 Fort McMurray Food Festival Presented by Suncor
On Friday, July 24, the fourth-annual Fort McMurray Food Festival presented by Suncor launched a series of five events guaranteed to infuse some serious summer fun into 2020.
Modified to follow Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines as they relate to COVID-19, all proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Waypoints, a local social profit organization that works to support and assist individuals and families of domestic violence, abuse, sexual assault and homelessness through prevention, treatment, intervention and referrals.
Taste of YMM Eats presented by Suncor - July 24 - August 30
Designed to promote restaurants that are open, operating, and still providing exceptional service to the Wood Buffalo region, 57 North, Bear & Buffalo, Mr. Mikes, Surekhas on the Snye, The Clubhouse at Miskanaw, Paddy McSwiggins, and Zee Bar & Grill will be competing for YMM Food Festival Awards including Best Creative, Best Plating, Best Savour, Best Customer Experience, Best Overall, and People's Choice.
Visit these participating restaurants, sample their carefully curated Taste of YMM Eats menus, and go online to vote for the winners. You can also enter to win prizes!
This Food Fest event runs from July 24 through August 30, 2020, and is in partnership with Country 93.3 and 97.9 Rock.
Virtual Patio Party presented by Coldwell Banker in Fort McMurray - July 25
The party may be virtual, but the fun will be IRL. If you've been to our Patio Party in the past, you know just how amazing it is, and that's why even COVID-19 can't stop this party.
In partnership with Mix 103.7 and MacDonald Island Park, this year's Patio Party will be a virtual event. The whole region can participate on their own patios with their COVID-cohort by joining us online as DJ Q-Pid spins the tunes. You can also pick up a Patio Party Kit from participating restaurants, and compete against other virtual Patio Party-goers for prizes and bragging rights!

Strongman Community Breakfast presented by MacDonald Island Park - July 26
Bring the kids, enjoy a free breakfast, and watch some of Canada's strongest men and women perform amazing feats of strength.
In partnership with Mix 103.7 and YMM Parent, this COVID-modified event will be fun for the whole family. Donations to Waypoints will be accepted via tap with credit or debit cards.
This event is happening at MacDonald Island Park from 10 am to 1 pm.
Food Festival Golf Classic presented by APE Maintenance - July 27
Calling all foursomes! Enjoy and evening of golf, friendly competition, and food on at the Fort McMurray Golf Club which already has COVID-modified protocols in place.
In partnership with the Fort McMurray Golf Club and 100.5 Cruz FM, this fun-forward tournament from 4 to 8 pm is the perfect way to round out your 2020 Fort McMurray Food Festival experience!
