Canadian Tire’s Gardening Trends of 2019
The Canadian Tire Garden Centre is ready to open for the season, and is now better than ever! Over the past ten gardening seasons Merle has been the ‘green thumb’ behind the growth of the Fort McMurray Canadian Tire’s beautiful garden centre. She has seen it grow from a small greenhouse, and very small area only open for five or six weeks, to two large greenhouses, a soil yard and garden area. This year the gardening center will open, weather permitting, at the end of April and stay open until September. Also this year, for the first time, an entire greenhouse will be devoted completely to vegetables and herbs. The smell is divine, and will make you hungry with the smell of all the delicious fresh herbs and vegetables!

For people looking to make a luscious new lawn, sod has been brought back this year, and there are new products in soil and mulch departments. Many sizes of trees are now in stock, as well as new shrubs, including beautiful flowering ones, are ready to take home and plant. For those looking to garden, seeds, seedlings, planters and baskets are ready to beautify your property. With plants in all stages from seed to ready to take home planters, there is something for everyone. Due to popular demand this year there are lots of elegant white planters and yellow flowers.
Fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs are always a gardening favorite, and there is a huge variety of plants to choose from for your garden. Delicious plants such as cherry tomatoes and strawberries that will continue to produce fruit all summer long are always popular. The past few years the gardening centre has sold avocado trees that grow all summer, and you can bring them inside and they grow all winter, too. They are a good sized fruit when ripe. For those looking to plant something a little different, tropical plants will be available until the garden centre closes in September.
Inside the store there is everything that you need to make your deck or balcony fun and comfortable this summer. A wide variety of patio furniture and decor is waiting to beautify your backyard this summer. To grill that perfect steak while enjoying your new furniture, Canadian Tire has a wide selection of barbeques and all their accessories. In order to fully enjoy your patio, gazebos and umbrellas will shade from the sun, rain and bugs!

A huge variety of fire pits, from small to large, gas and wood have all been brought in for backyard fun. Some of the patio tables even have gas fire pits in them so that you can sit outside around the fire in comfort all summer long!
